Recently when rummagng in a jusnk shop I found an intriguing single-sided 78RPM disk wrapped in a yellowed page from "The People" newpaper of 14th October 1928.
The rocrded side bore the label of tehe Gramophone company limited and is "The Three fishers" recrded by Lady Maud Warrender. A singer now larely forgotten those most lasting legacy was her influence on the public provison of the arts in the UK and those life as life as a gay womn in Edwardian London caused rather less scandal than might have been expected given her background.
